Currently India has 36 (28 cultural, 7 natural and 1 mixed) World Heritage Sites in India that are recognised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Khangchendzonga National Park, is the only mixed UNSECO World heritage site of India.

In July, 2017 the Historic City of Ahmadabad was added as the first UNESCO World Heritage Site city of India.
